Barn found 7 years ago, kicked thru with great compression, started fairly easy with hot mag. With a little work and cosmetic clean-up, i have ridden it to 3 nor cal indian runs and it has never left me stranded . Engine, trans, clutch and rear brakes work. Left throttle, right spark advance, right hand jockey shift as god and indian intended itthe ness family were going to buy it for their tv show let it ride but it was short lived. I was planning to take it to bonneville this year but regretfully decided to sell instead. This is what is commonly referred to as a franklin scout[xxxx-xxxx,after the designer]. 1st year with detachable cylinder heads. This one getting heads and cylinders from a 45" 101 makes for a big boost in power. Other features are original uncut and undamaged frame,forks and engine. Other period modifications include 101 drop center 18" wheels[front brake is possible], xxxx bars with chicago grips[both are cracked], bobbed original fender, straight header exhaust. Fuel/oil tank is a very cool one off with extra capacity done in red lacquer, original gas and oil caps with modifications, unique bmw everbest fuel tap[needs new corks] oil feed is simple on/off an works perfect in this total loss system. I will include a rough original tank in the sale. Later brass linkert carb with original indian cover. Bates equipped with seat,headlight,rear riders pegs,corbin p pad, very unusual vitallic board mats,old sparto taillight, rims shod with dunlop k70s from the 60,s so rider be aware[ i had it up to 60 mph ... Danger will robinson!!] there is no generator or drive gear assembly but i see those parts on ebay . Burt munro coaxed 200mph out of his xxxx scout[ see the worlds fastest indian].
